Many studies have shown that the rate of single parent families has increased. The main character in About a Boy, Marcus, is a child living in a single parent family. Without a father figure at home, Marcus ends up searching for an adult male to help him get through a difficult period in his life. This character’s life struggle is an example of how children need both parents in their lives during their upbringing. If Marcus had come from a traditional family, he would have had fewer difficulties with his social and psychological development.
The main character, Hans, is a gardener, a rich miller’s devoted friend. On the basis of this friendship, the miller helps himself flower from Hans' garden, and also promises to give Hans an old, broken wheelbarrow in order to replace one, which Hans was forced to sell in order that he could buy food which he really longed for. Against this promise, the miller has Hans run plenty of tiring errands for him, which makes him completely worn out.
People’s will is important than anything. Good will is like sunshine; Bad will is like poison. Take Mary and Colin for example. At first, the thought of Mary was always extreme and stubborn. She didn’t like anyone, and everyone didn’t like her, either.
I think each person has a talent, and the talents are different because everyone is different, we need to realize what the special talent we have, and try to make it better and better. The talent may affect your life; therefore, to know what we have is very significant. Meeting the respectable person is also important. Just like Tony met Mr. Gordon who found his music talent and Mr. Wood who sent him to the College of Music.
I think we should not have the prejudice toward people who we have not deeply known yet .And I disagree with Elizabeth’s conception of the riches. She was smart but totally irrational. People could not always judge everyone by their own aspect. Mr. Darcy was the only person that I could forgive. He was not insolent by birth .He just concealed his true personality on purpose. For example, he dealt with everything for Wickham and Lydia well telling them not to tell the Bennets about what he did. And, he encouraged Mr. Bingley to propose to Jane. In fact, I think he had more visions than Elizabeth.
This book is about Huck and Jim’s adventures. But before they had their travels, there are some small stories. Tom and Huck are good friends. Huck gave Tom a promise that if he stays with the Widow, he can join Tom’s gang. But later, Huck felt bored with it and quit. The next morning, Huck’s Pap came to visit him for taking his money. However, Huck had sold it for a dollar. His Pap felt very angry and took him away. Pap kept Huck in a cabin but Huck wanted to escape from it so he made a plan.{{ $t('FEZ003') }}2009-07-05
